2 Women Shoot Sleeping Man On Music Row
Two women jumped out of a Lexus SUV and shot a sleeping man on 19th Avenue early Saturday morning, police say.

NASHVILLE, TN — Two women reportedly shot a sleeping man on 19th Avenue near Music Row early Saturday morning.
A homeless man in his 50s was sleeping near 19th Avenue and Chet Atkins Place around 3 a.m. Saturday when two women jumped out of a white SUV, possibly a Lexus, and shot him, according to police. The man stumbled into security guard Phillip Garton, who heard the shots, and asked for help.

"Got him to sit down and the expression on his face has been on my mind all day. I haven't slept well at all today. It's not right to get shot like that," Garton told NewsChannel 5. "To get shot like that, a homeless person at that. The city ought to take more into what we can do for the homeless people instead of letting incidences like this happen."
Garton, an Iraq War veteran, was on his first night at the security job.

The victim is hospitalized in critical condition.
