Nashville Public Library's Green Hills branch to close for renovation in January (wsmv.com) — Nashville Public Library’s Green Hills branch will close January 4, 2026, for its first full renovation in 25 years, affecting anyone who uses that popular location. Patrons must redirect current and future holds to other branches, as Green Hills is already removed from the pickup menu. During construction, residents can use any of the system’s 20 other open branches across the city.
   

2. Woman almost kidnapped at apartment complex in South Nashville, affidavit says (wsmv.com) — A woman living off Murfreesboro Pike in South Nashville reportedly fought off an attempted kidnapping in her apartment parking lot on Christmas Eve, drawing help from a witness. Metro Nashville Police later arrested a 41-year-old man, who was charged with attempted aggravated kidnapping and public intoxication after officers and a witness identified him as a suspect.
   

3. New Tennessee noncitizen driver's licenses begin Jan. 1 (fox17.com) — From Nashville, state leaders are rolling out new rules for noncitizen driver’s licenses and IDs starting in 2026, creating clearly marked temporary cards that can’t be used for voting. Supporters say the changes protect election integrity, while a Nashville Democratic lawmaker and other critics argue they stigmatize migrants and misuse state resources on a federal issue.
   

4. TN Lottery Cash4Life, Cash 3 Evening winning numbers for Dec. 28, 2025 (tennessean.com subscription) — If you bought a Tennessee Lottery ticket, here are the Dec. 28 winning numbers plus exactly how to claim prizes through the Nashville headquarters on Century Boulevard or by mail to the Nashville P.O. Box. The article also lists regional claim centers and prize limits across Tennessee.
   

5. Pick Tennessee Products Awarded $20,000 America 250 Grant for Statewide Outreach (clarksvilleonline.com) — Announced from Nashville, a $20,000 America 250 grant will help Pick Tennessee Products boost year-round promotions for local farmers and makers across the state. The Tennessee Department of Agriculture program plans expanded social media, fair displays, and pop-up events to spotlight Tennessee-grown goods, strengthen local economies, and connect residents with nearby farms and agritourism businesses.
