Grand Ole Opry mourns loss of oldest member Stu Phillips, dies at 92 on Christmas Day (fox17.com) — Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry is mourning longtime member Stu Phillips, who died on Christmas Day at 92 after decades performing on its stage. The Canadian-born singer’s 1965 hit brought him to Nashville, where he recorded several U.S. country songs, became a U.S. citizen, and later owned Long Hollow Winery in Tennessee.
