6 Pounds Of Cocaine Found During Tailgating Stop: MNPD

Metro Police didn't expect to find six pounds of cocaine when they stopped a tailgating car.

NASHVILLE, TN -- A Metro police officer expected a standard traffic stop when he flipped on his lights and sirens on Interstate 40 near McCrory Lane and pulled over a Nissan Versa he'd spotted tailgating another car.

The officer found a very nervous driver claiming to be driving from Texas to Mansfield, Ohio to visit a friend, though the driver -- Magana Denver, 19, of Edinburg, Texas -- had a difficult time coming up with his friend's name. He did come up with a name, however, for his passenger: Fernando. Fernando's actual name was discovered to be Jesus Osbaldo Nuno, 22, of Norristown, Penn.

Denver then gave the officer permission to search his car for weapons and drugs, according to police, and the officer found three two-pound bricks of cocaine under the rear seat.
