81 Guns Found In Carry-Ons At Nashville International This Year

The TSA said more guns have been seized this year than in all of 2016.

NASHVILLE, TN -- TSA agents found an unloaded Smith & Wesson .40 caliber revolver in a carry-on at Nashville International Airport early Tuesday morning. It was the 81st gun seized by the TSA at the airport this year, surpassing last year's total of 80.

Gun seizures are up at airports nationwide. The Transportation Security Administration seized 3,733 guns through the end of the last reporting period Nov. 13. Through the same point in 2016, the agency had seized 3,391 guns.

Guns cannot be carried in carry-on baggage. They can be checked if they are unloaded and the airline is notified.
