Armed Suspect On The Run After Lengthy Police Pursuit

Two suspects were arrested but another remains at-large following a cross-county car chase early Friday.

NASHVILLE, TN -- A police chase that began in South Nashville near Harding Place at 3:30 a.m. eventually made its way to Madison and even into Sumner County before coming to an end with two arrests near Brick Church Pike.

Metro Police said an officer attempted to pull over an SUV on Interstate 65 North near Harding Place, but instead of stopping, the driver led police on the pursuit, which wound through the county and over the line before turning back into Davidson County.

An MNPD officer laid spike strips near the Old Hickory Boulevard exit on I-65 near Madison, but the chase continued to Woodstock Drive near Brick Church Pike. Around 4:15 a.m., the suspects ran from the SUV.

One of the suspects had a leg injury and was apprehended immediately. Another was located hiding under a truck and was spotted by the truck's owner, who alerted police. That suspect was taken into custody by a K9 officer. He is a juvenile and was reportedly in possession of a handgun. He was taken to Nashville General with wounds to his arm.

K9 officers continued to track the third suspect who police consider armed and dangerous. They urged residents to lock their doors and remain inside.

Investigators are working to determine if the trio are connected to a recent run of armed robberies in South Nashville.
