Here are the top three stories today in Nashville:

  1. Nashville Creed Investment Co. and Atlanta-based Portman partnered to bring The Moore Building, a 16-story, Class A office building to Nashville's Music Row district. The building's first tenants will be legal advertising firm Whitehardt and Boston-based Albany Road Real Estate Partners. It comprises 236,000 square feet of office space and 8,500 square feet of ground-floor retail space and is named after Elvis Presley's longtime guitarist, Scotty Moore. (RebusinessOnline.com)
  2. Residents in East Nashville are expressing concern after a photo surfaced showing elementary school students waiting for the school bus outside an adult toy shop. Parents and community members have raised safety issues, including the lack of a crossing guard and frequent accidents near the location. The owner of the shop, Jenna's Adult Toy Box, suggests that the school bus pick-up should occur in the students' neighborhood or at a more appropriate location. (WKRN)
  3. Jefferey Paine, a 47-year-old man from Springfield, turned himself into the Metro Nashville Police Department after being accused of assaulting a mother in downtown Nashville on Mother's Day. The incident occurred at the Fifth and Broadway parking garage entrance when the victim, accompanied by her mother and two children, was nearly struck by Paine's vehicle. Surveillance footage revealed that Paine grabbed the victim by her hair and forcefully pulled her head into his vehicle before eventually letting go and proceeding into the parking garage. (WSMV)
