Charges Dropped Against Nashville Dad Who Pulled Shotgun On Drug Dealer
Clark Reasonover was charged with assault after pulling a shotgun on a man who allegedly tried to sell heroin to his daughter.

NASHVILLE, TN — Clark Reasonover doesn't recommend doing what he did, but he knows sometimes a dad's got to do what a dad's got to do.
Reasonover appeared in court this week, charged with assault after he pulled a shotgun on a man who intended to sell heroin to his daughter. Reasonover had tracked his daughter's phone and knew about the exchange, so when a dealer pulled into the West End Walgreen's parking lot July 27, Reasonover was ready.

He blocked the dealer's car and pulled a shotgun from his backseat and waited for police, according to an arrest report. The alleged dealer, Ronnie Patton, admitted to investigators he was at the Walgreen's to sell heroin to Reasonover's daughter, who fled before police arrived. Officers also reportedly found more than a half-gram in a baggie apparently dropped by Patton.
Patton was arrested on drug charges, but police also arrested Reasonover and charged him with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Patton was bound over to the grand jury this week; the district attorney dropped the charge against Reasonover.
“I wouldn’t recommend this but you need to get involved with your children and know what’s going on,” Reasonover told WSMV, but he said he did what he pledged to do the day his daughter was born.
“When I held her in my arms the first day at the hospital, I made a pledge to take care of her for the rest of my life."
