Convicted Killer Arrested After 2 Weeks On The Lam

Recognized by his distinctive face tattoos, a convicted murder was arrested after running stop signs, Metro Police say.

NASHVILLE, TN -- Metro Police spent two weeks looking for Laquantaze Buford after the 24-year-old convicted murder reportedly violated his probation.

After a fruitless fortnight, they finally caught up to Buford Thursday night.

An officer stopped a car in Bordeaux Thursday after it had reportedly run several stop signs. The driver of the car identified himself as Buford and stuck his head of the window, which is when officers recognized him because of his distinctive facial tattoos. Buford then dropped the car back into gear and sped away, according to an affidavit.

After 200 feet, the car stopped, the driver bailed and began running through nearby yards. After a "long and thorough" foot chase, Buford was taken into custody.

Sentenced to a probated 10-year sentence for second-degree murder in 2017, Buford had allegedly avoided police and his probation officer for two weeks.
