Davidson County Unemployment Drops To 2.1 Percent

Unemployment rates fell in all 95 Tennessee counties in April, with Davidson County's down to 2.1 percent.

NASHVILLE, TN — Davidson County's unemployment rate dropped a half percentage point to 2.1 percent in April, according to the Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development, and remains the state's second lowest.

The unemployment rate fell in all 95 of the state's counties.

Of the ten lowest county-level figures statewide, nine were in Middle Tennessee. The lowest figure belongs to Williamson County at 2 percent.

Davidson County is tops among the state's four largest metros, besting Knoxville's Knox County (2.4 percent), Chattanooga's Hamilton County (2.8 percent) and Memphis' Shelby County (3.5 percent).

Davidson County's unemployment rate dropped 0.4 percent from April 2017.

The state rate, reported last week, is 3.4 percent for the third consecutive month.
