Davidson County Unemployment Drops At Yearβs End
Unemployment in Davidson County fell 1.4 percent in 2017.

NASHVILLE, TN β Davidson County's unemployment rate dropped to 2.3 percent in December, down 0.2 percent from October, according to the Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development. The unemployment rate fell in 77 counties, rose in 7 and was unchanged in 11 others and is below 5 percent in 89 of the state's 95 counties.
Davidson County's rate is tied for second lowest in the state, 0.1 percent behind Williamson County. Of the ten lowest county-level figures statewide, eight were in Middle Tennessee.
Davidson County is tops among the state's four largest metros, besting Knoxville's Knox County (2.6 percent), Chattanooga's Hamilton County (3 percent) and Memphis' Shelby County (3.7 percent).

The state rate, reported last week, is 3.2 percent, up 0.1 percent from Novemberβs adjusted figure.
