Guard Had Sex With Inmate At Nashville Prison: TBI
A guard at the Tennessee Prison for Women had sex with an inmate twice, according to a TBI investigation.

NASHVILLE, TN — A Tennessee corrections officer has been arrested and fired after being accused of having sex with an inmate at the state women's prison.
According to an arrest report, James Crook Jr., a guard at the Tennessee Prison for Women, admitted to having sex with an inmate twice at the prison. The inmate had reported the incidents to police, saying she and Crook had sex twice in a bathroom connected to the prison's kitchen. The TBI investigated Crooks.

Crooks faces two counts of sex with an inmate or prisoner, a Class E felony.

“The Tennessee Department of Correction seeks to provide a safe, humane and secure environment free from the threat of sexual abuse for all offenders in custody. This is accomplished by maintaining a strict program consisting of prevention education, mechanisms for reporting suspected sexual abuse, investigation of incidents, and prosecution of those found to be in violation of the law. The department has a zero tolerance policy for any sexual misconduct within its facilities.
