Man Shot, Killed In Nashville Police Shooting
The TBI says Nashville police were responding to a shots fired call when the situation escalated for reasons that are under investigation.

NASHVILLE, TN β A man was shot and killed in an exchange of gunfire with Metro Nasvhille police Friday night, according to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
The TBI said in a statement that Nashville police responded to a shots fired call around 10:30 p.m. at an apartment complex in the area of 2400 Buena Vista Pike. Officers saw a subject who matched the description of the suspect in the shots fired call and also of a suspect in a reported pistol-whipping incident earlier in the night. According to the TBI, the same man is believed to the suspect in a stranger sexual assault that happened in the same neighborhood prior to the shooting.
The man apparently ran into an apartment and officers approached the door to make contact with him and check on the welfare of those inside, the TBI said. The situation then escalated for reasons the TBI says are still under investigation and there was an exchange of gunfire between cops and the suspect.
