Man Spends Morning Threatening Nashville Kroger Employees: Police

A 39-year-old man was arrested after threatening Kroger employees with a kitchen knife Monday morning.

NASHVILLE, TN — A Nashville man spent Monday morning with a knife in his pants, yelling profanity and threats at Kroger employees, police say.

According to an arrest report, Ritchie Esaw walked into the Monroe Street Kroger Monday and yelled "I am gonna kill this b---- after work!" and lifted up his shirt to show the security guard a knife tucked into his shorts.

Another security guard at the Kroger attempted to intervene and Esaw yelled "N----- lovin' b----, I am gonna kill you when you get off work," witnesses told police.

Esaw was picked up a short time later near Arthur Avenue with the knife in his pants, according to an affidavit.

He is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
