Metro Council Special Election Runoff: Early Voting Set
District 1 voters will make yet another trip to the polls in a runoff for their latest Metro councilmember. Early voting begins Friday.

NASHVILLE, TN -- The people of northwest Davidson County will once again cast a ballot for Metro Council, though this latest election - a runoff - should be the last one for awhile. Probably.
Early voting in the runoff between Judy Cummings and Jonathan Hall begins Friday, June 8 and runs through Saturday, June 23. The winner will succeed Nick Leonardo, who resigned after his council colleagues appointed him to the General Sessions bench in the wake of Casey Moreland's resignation. Leonardo was defeated in the primary to hold that judicial position permanently. Leonardo himself won a special election to the District 1 position following the resignation of Loniel Green, who was recently convicted of coercing a victim in a domestic violence case.
