Middle Tennessee Weather: Snow Possible On Spring's First Day
The calendar says spring sprung, but frigid air and even some snow are possible across the Midstate Tuesday.

NASHVILLE, TN -- Tuesday marks the first day of spring and Monday's showers and storms certainly fit the stereotype.
But Middle Tennessee's weather is paying no heed to the equinox with a burst of light snow possible and a freeze warning in effect Tuesday night into Wednesday.
The National Weather Service says accumulating snowfall of up to an inch is likely across the northern tier of Middle Tennessee and into the Cumberland Plateau between Tuesday night and mid-morning Wednesday. In areas south and west - including Nashville - a dusting (or even less) is possible.

Snow or not, Tuesday night and Wednesday morning will be chilly. Temperatures will fall throughout the day Tuesday and bottom out just below freezing early Wednesday morning. Because Middle Tennessee is already in its growing season, the National Weather Service issued a freeze warning for early Wednesday morning. Another is likely to be issued for Wednesday night into Thursday. Frost is likely Thursday morning with clear skies and strong winds expected.
After (possibly?) winter's last gasp, highs in the mid to upper 60s return for the weekend.
