The motorcyclist, Jesse Hang, 27, of Lebanon, was critically injured and is hospitalized at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

The investigation shows that the 2017 Toyota Sienna minivan, being driven by Mohammed Altamimi, 58, was traveling outbound on Murfreesboro Pike and began a left turn to Smith Springs Road. Hang’s Suzuki motorcycle was traveling inbound on Murfreesboro Pike and struck the minivan in the front passenger door. Almansory was not wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene. The four other occupants of the minivan were not seriously hurt.

The preliminary contributing factor to this crash appears to be Altamimi’s failure to yield to the motorcycle.
