Mom Left 2-Year-Old In Car For More Than An Hour: Police
Metro Police say a mom left her child inside a car while she shopped at Nashville West.

NASHVILLE, TN -- Metro Police charged a Nashville mother with child neglect, saying she left her 2-year-old in the car for more than an hour while she shopped at Nashville West Friday night.
Police say Kateria Williams, 20, went inside a store around 9:30 p.m., leaving her son in the car. She did leave the car running with the air conditioning on, bit when an ambulance arrived, his temperature had dropped to 96 degrees and he was soiled with urine, according to an affidavit.

An announcement was made over the store's loudspeaker, but Williams reportedly told police she did not hear it. Investigators say that surveillance video shows Williams coming back to the car, picking up another child, but leaving her son inside.
The boy was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center and eventually released into his grandmother's custody.
