Temperatures will be mild across the Midstate but rain lurks as Christmas approaches.

NASHVILLE, TN — A mild week is on tap for the Midstate with lots of much-needed rain, according to the National Weather Service forecast for Nashville. Temperatures will be in 50s or 60s during the day, but there's a solid chance of showers throughout the week.

Monday: Drizzle and fog early, then mostly cloudy and a bit warmer, high of 58. Mostly cloudy overnight, low of 46.

Tuesday: A 40 percent chance of showers, otherwise cloudy, a high of 61. A 40 percent chance of showers after sundown, otherwise cloudy, low of 44.

Wednesday: A 40 percent chance of showers, otherwise partly sunny, high of 54. Partly cloudy in the evening, low of 37.

Thursday: Partly sunny and warmer, high of 60. Partly cloudy after dark with a 40 percent chance of showers, low of 46.
