Tropical Storm Nate's fast track inland will bring persistent rains to the Midstate starting this weekend.

NASHVILLE, TN — After a steamy Friday, the inland push of Tropical Storm Nate will make for a rainy Saturday and Sunday, according to the National Weather Service forecast for Nashville. Locally heavy rains are expected through the early part of next week due to the storm. Friday: Mostly sunny, a high of 86. Mostly clear after dark, low of 65.

Saturday: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, otherwise partly sunny, high of 84. Winds of 5 to 15 mph gusting up to 20 mph. A 70 percent chance of showers and storms overnight, low of 71.
