Nashville The Favorite For Amazon HQ2: Oddsmaker

NASHVILLE, TN -- You can't call Nashville's efforts to land Amazon's HQ2 a longshot bid anymore. In fact, according to one oddsmaker, the Music City is actually the favorite.

Online bookmaker Bovada set the lines for the 20 finalist cities announced by the Internet retail giant Thursday and topping the list? Nashville at +800. That's 8/1 for those more comfortable with fractional odds used in horse racing.

Washington, D.C., is the second choice at +1000, or 10/1. The longest shots are Columbus, Ohio; Boston and Miami at +2000.

Amazon says it needs 500,000 square feet of space by 2019 and 8 million square feet in the long term for a facility, which it will consider an equal to its Seattle headquarters, that would create up to 50,000 jobs.
