Nashville Man Arrested For 539th Time

NASHVILLE, TN — The latest Metro Nashville Police officer who arrested Robert Dale Brown noted in his report Brown has "a chronic booking history." And that's putting it mildly.

Brown, 48, was arrested for the 539th time Wednesday outside a Rosa Parks Boulevard convenience store, charged with public intoxication and criminal trespass. Virtually all of Brown's arrests have been misdemeanors and, outside of two assault charges, non-violent. Brown's first Nashville arrest came in 1994, meaning he's averaged an arrest every two weeks for 23 years.

Wednesday night, police said Brown returned to the Exxon on Rosa Parks several times after being asked to leave.

"When (police) arrived on the scene, the defendant was standing by the door to the convenience store arguing with an employee. An odor of alcohol was observed on the defendant's breath and he was holding a half empty bottle of vodka. Another bottle of vodka was in the defendant's pocket. He had blood shot watery eyes, was unsteady on his (feet), and his speech was slurred and often incoherent," Wednesday's arrest reports says.

Brown, who has 56 failures to appear and 25 failures to be booked, was due in court Thursday.
