Nashville Man Convicted Of Trafficking 13-Year-Old For Sex

NASHVILLE, TN -- A 26-year-old Nashville man faces life in prison following a conviction on two human trafficking charges this week.

A federal jury found Brittan Ezekial "Low Low" Kettles guilty of conspiracy to sex traffic a person under the age of 14 and sex trafficking a person under the age of 14. Kettles accomplice, Stormy Whittemore, pleaded guilty in the case and is awaiting sentencing.

Less than a day after meeting on Instagram in June 2016, Kettles told Whittemore, then 18, about his prostitution enterprise. Within a few days, Whittemore posted ads on Backpage.com, a website notorious for its use by prosititutes. A few days later, Kettles recruited a 13-year-old friend of Whittemore's, "enticing" her to join the operation.

In a rented room at a motel near the Nashville International Airport, the 13-year-old engaged in sex acts with a number of men, turning the money she was paid over to Kettles and Whittemore. Kettles bought the girl food and clothes and took her and Whittemore to a nail salon.

The girl made $800 over the weekend and asked Kettles for $200, but ultimately agreed to $60. Kettles left $15 in her mailbox.

The girl's mother contacted a "non-government agency" when she learned her daughter had been trafficked; that agency contacted law enforcement. The girl identified Kettles and Whittemore, who were arrested.

Kettles faces a minimum of 15 years and up to life in federal prison.
