Nashville Mom Socks Fire Captain Following Drunken Crash: Police

A Nashville woman was arrested on public intoxication and a host of other charges, including assaulting a fire captain, following a wreck.

NASHVILLE, TN -- A Nashville woman drinking vodka behind the wheel wrecked her car early Thursday morning with her 2-month-old son in the back seat, according to Metro Police.

And then she slugged a fire captain.

Police say 33-year-old Denisha Williams knocked on the door of a Brick Church Pike home early Thursday saying she needed help. Witnesses said her son was wearing just a onesie despite it being 7 degrees outside.

Williams reportedly told police she'd been drinking vodka when she crashed her car into a tree.

A Nashville Fire Department captain was attempting to take her son to the hospital for evaluation following the crash when Williams punched him in the mouth, according to police.

She is charged with child endangerment, assault, public intoxication, and leaving the scene of an accident.
