Here are the top three stories today in Nashville:

  1. A mother found her 3-month-old boy dead and six other children of various ages up to 16 months old alone with no adult at their caregiver's apartment on Monday. The six children are reported to be in good health at Vanderbilt. The caregiver, 51-year-old Anne C. Jordan, was found later in the evening by hikers in Harpeth River State Park with injuries that police say appeared to be "significant" and "self-inflicted." Officials reported that Jordan's car was also found at the park, and police are currently making efforts to question Jordan at a Nashville hospital. (KATU)
  2. On Apr. 12, two new people were added to Nashville’s “Top 10 Most Wanted” list. According to Nashville Police, 32-year-old William Hall Judice is this week’s “Top Most Wanted” fugitive and is wanted for rape and three counts of aggravated assault with bodily injury; he was last seen in West Nashville. De’Tynn Smith, 19, was also added to the list in connection to the April 2022 murder of 39-year-old Tywane Miller. Smith is believed to be the third and final suspect. (WKRN)
  3. On Wednesday, Apr. 12, Democrat Senators Chuck Schumer (N.Y.), Raphael Warnock (Ga.), Chris Murphy (Conn.), Alex Padilla (Calif.), and Brian Schatz (Hawaii) called on the Justice Department to investigate the expulsions of Tennessee state Reps. Justin Pearson (D-Memphis) and Justin Jones (D-Nashville). In their letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland, the lawmakers said, "We are deeply concerned that without immediate action by the U.S. Department of Justice, antidemocratic actors will only be emboldened, and we will see more troubling and more frequent incidents meant to unravel our democratic fabric." (The Hill)
