Nashville Robberies Could Hit 9-Year High
Robberies in Nashville are at their highest rate since 2008, according to Metro Police.

NASHVILLE, TN — Nashville is on pace to hit a nine-year high for robberies, according to statistics from Metro Police.
There were 1,586 robberies reported in Davidson County through October 7, an increase of more than 8 percent through the same time in 2016. The highest number of reported robberies through the first week of October came in 200, when there were 1,846.

The rate of increase in robberies paces ahead of the county's population growth of roughly 2.5 percent per annum.
The biggest increase in reported robberies is out of the Hermitage Precinct, which has spiked more than 21 percent over last year. The South Precinct has actually seen a decrease of more than 3 percent.
