- Five years after voters chose not to pass Nashville's multimodal infrastructure transit plan, the city's recent growth is causing people to reconsider. A large meeting of community leaders and at least 10 organizations took place Monday at Metro Courthouse in Public Square Park to discuss how the plan could be helpful. “That growth will continue,” said Jessica Dauphin, president of the Middle Tennessee Transit Alliance. “‘Ain’t no stopping us now’, kind of thing. The only thing that we can do is to help manage that growth through infrastructure.” (WKRN News 2)
- The National Police Association has filed a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit against the governments of Nashville and Davidson County for refusing requests related to the Covenant School shooting, specifically, for the shooter's "manifesto." The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department (MNPD) has denied requests citing an ongoing investigation, however, the Director of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigations disclosed publicly at least twice there was no such investigation. The NPA said it believes releasing information connected to the shooting will benefit law enforcement and the public. (Yahoo)
- Nearly two months after a man attacked and robbed another man walking in downtown Nashville of $70K, police have taken a suspect into custody. The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department said that Jamarcus Wallace, 34, admitted to investigators that he was the man seen on surveillance footage obtained from several businesses near where the crime occurred, however, he couldn't remember a robbery. The victim told police he was a professional gambler and that he had won the money two days prior in St. Louis. (WSMV)
