Apprisen: Our staff engages their local communities through outreach and educational events that include workshops, presentations, webinars and fairs. With topics ranging from managing credit and debt wisely to first time home buying, we have a positive impact on the financial well-being of our communities. We’ve always partnered with organizations that work with low-to-moderate income individuals and families. These partnerships are highly effective ways to engage consumers in the process of goal setting, financial assessment, and behavior change. We take pride that we are an asset to our communities and clients we serve. In 2015 we delivered/attended over 700 presentations and/or events, reaching over 14,000 participants.

Patch: What is the biggest struggle your organization faces?

Apprisen: One of the biggest struggles that we face as an agency is that many individuals portray us an agency that only offers a Debt Management Program. We are so much more than a debt repayment service! We provide a wide array of programs and services to empower individuals to take control of their financial well-being. From basic budgets to student loan repayment plans to preparing to buy a home, we are committed to providing our clients an all-inclusive overview of what’s needed to successfully manage their finances. We empower and support our consumers with the tools and knowledge needed to plan for their financial future.

Patch: What do you hope for the future of your nonprofit?

Apprisen: As we move on into the future we want to create innovative services that can help individuals in every stage of their lives meet their financial goals. We seek to identify trends that we help us develop and respond with new programs and services. We are focused on increasing our online presence and launch new tools. This will help us connect with those consumers who only rely on online formats to manage their finances. We also continue enhancing our relationships with local and/or national partners. These partnerships help the economic vibrancy of our community one individual at a time and make it possible for us to continue to achieve our mission.
