Not-A-Scam Alert: NES Does Need Bank Information Updated
The Nashville Electric Service updated its online security software and the utility really does need bank account information re-entered.

NASHVILLE, TN — People are rightfully wary of emails that ask them to go to a website and enter their bank account information and particularly so if the email appears to be from an entity that should already have that information.
An entity like, for example, a massive electric utility like, for example, the Nashville Electric Service. In this case, though, nobody's phishing. NES really does need its customers who use the auto-pay feature to punch in those account and routing numbers again.
NES upgraded its online security software, in the process clearing out all the stored bank account information, thus it sent emails to those customers asking them to re-enter it to set up automatic payment again.

Customers should log in to their online profile and select "View/Pay Bill." They'll be redirected to Kubra, NES's payment service. Select "Payment Options" and then "Manage Payment Accounts" to add banking information in order to set-up auto-pay.
NES is asking for patience. The number of customers logging in to update information caused some website problems earlier this week.
