Pantsless Man Beats Truck With 2x4, Charges Cop, Gets Maced, Runs

A 29-year-old man mooned traffic, smashed his own truck, ran at an officer, got maced and said he needed to eat a worm, according to police.

BELLEVUE, TN -- Metro Police say a 29-year-old in Bellevue "displayed signs of being under the influence of an intoxicant" Friday, such as pulling down his pants, attacking his truck with some lumber, charging at an officer, driving after being maced and expressing a need to eat an imaginary worm.

According to an affidavit, an officer saw Aaron Buckner "laying on his horn" and tailgating another car in a parking lot at U.S. Highway 70S and Old Hickory Boulevard in Bellevue. After bumping that car, Buckner drove into traffic - at a few points, doing so hands-free - before sliding to a stop in the intersection of Highway 70 and Hicks Road.

"While sitting at the green traffic light Buckner began beating on his vehicle with a wooden 2x4," the officer wrote.

Buckner then got back into his truck, drove to a nearby gas station where he allegedly "turned his music up loudly and began beating on his vehicle once again" before getting out of the truck and "began shouting at traffic with his pants down, displaying his buttocks."

The officer wrote that Buckner then yelled at him to get out of his car. After refusing to put his hands in the air, the 6-foot-7-inch, 230 pound Buckner charged at the officer and was sprayed with chemical spray.

Undeterred, Buckner ran to his truck and drove to a nearby apartment complex, where he was taken into custody by other officers.

"While on the ground in the mulch area of the entrance sign to the apartments, Buckner stated 'There's a worm, I need to eat that worm' as he started eating the mulch," according to his arrest report.

Police say they found two fold-over shotguns in the cabin of Buckner's truck.

He is charged with resisting arrest, evading arrest, public intoxication, disorderly conduct and public indecency.
