Pizza Delivery Driver Shot In Head, Robbed

NASHVILLE, TN — A father of two is in critical condition after he was shot in the head while delivering pizzas in North Nashville early Friday.

A passerby saw the man, who is in his 40s but has otherwise not been identified, lying next to his car in a pool of blood around 1:40 a.m. Friday near 27th Avenue North and Batavia Street and called police. The man, who was delivering pizza for New York Pizza on Elliston, was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

The manager of the restaurant told Channel 4 the driver had two children and had been working there for about four months,

Police did not have a suspect description immediately available.
