Pizza Delivery Driver Dies After Shooting

Doniyor Abdumadjidov, an Uzbek immigrant and father of four, died after being shot in the head delivering pizzas.

NASHVILLE, TN — The pizza delivery driver shot in the head during a robbery in North Nashville Friday has died.

Doniyor Abdumadjidov, a 40-year-old immigrant from Uzbekistan and father of four, was found by a passerby on Batavia Street lying in a pool of blood next to his car around 1 a.m. Friday. He was delivering pizzas for New York Pizza on Elliston. The address Abdumadjidov was given did not order the pizza.

Adam Payz, the owner of New York Pizza, told WKRN Abdumadjidov's four children and wife arrived in the United States about four months ago.

“He has been a great man with us, a great personality and he has been wonderful. I care about his kids with the wife. She is new in town, new in the country first of all," Payz told the station.
