Semi Carrying 20 Tons Of Food Overturns On I-24 Ramp

An overturned tractor-trailer blocked traffic for hours Friday morning after tipping over while taking a curve too quickly.

NASHVILLE, TN — The ramp connecting Briley Parkway and Interstate 24 north of downtown was closed for several hours Friday after a semi-truck overturned.

Around 4:30 Friday morning, the tractor-trailer, carrying 40,000 pounds of food, took the ramp on Exit 18 too quickly, tipping over and blocking the roadway.

The driver was not injured.

Westbound traffic moving from Briley to the interstate was blocked on the ramp and clean-up took about four hours.
