Task Force Nabs 3 Teens In Stolen Car: Metro Police

Two 16-year-olds and a 17-year-old were arrested by officers assigned to the Juvenile Crime Reduction Task Force in a stolen car, police say

NASHVILLE, TN -- An officer with the new Juvenile Crime Reduction Task Force arrested two 16-year-olds and a 17-year-old after a rainy chase in a stolen car. One of the 16-year-olds was wanted for another carjacking.

The officer saw a Toyota Camry which had been reported stolen at the Wedgewood Avenue/12th Avenue intersection and began following it. The driver noticed the officer and sped off, but the officer broke off the chase because of the slick roads.

Soon thereafter, an undercover officer saw the Camry in an alley near 11th Ave. North. The trio of teens tried to run but were arrested after a brief foot chase.
