Teen's Gun Had Serial Numbers Removed: Police

Metro Police arrested a 17-year-old allegedly carrying a gun with unreadable serial numbers.

NASHVILLE, TN -- An officer working with the new juvenile crimes task force arrested a 17-year-old carrying a gun with defaced serial numbers, Metro Police said.

The officer approached a group of teens at the Preston Taylor Homes, asking if any were carrying weapons. Police said the 17-year-old admitted to having a gun and turned it over to the officer and was arrested for unlawful gun possession.

Investigators found that the pistol's serial numbers had been defaced and were unreadable.
