Here are the top three stories today in Nashville:

  1. On Wednesday, Apr. 26, the Metropolitan Council of Nashville and Davidson County voted 26-12 to approve $760 million in revenue bonds for a new stadium for the Tennessee Titans. In addition, $1.26 billion in taxpayer money was also approved to fund the new stadium, which puts locals on the hook for more than half of the project's estimated $2.1 billion cost. This sets a new record for the largest stadium subsidy in United States history. (Bloomberg)
  2. A Nashville high school student is speaking out about how they were denied entry to prom for wearing a suit to the formal event. The student, B Hayes, shared an Instagram photo explaining that they had been a student at Nashville Christian School for 13 years and were unable to attend their senior prom due to the school having issues with their attire. 3. On Wednesday, Apr. 12, a pregnant alleged shoplifter was shot by a Walgreens team leader, and almost two weeks later, she still remains in critical condition. Mitarus Boyd, 21, was accused of shooting Travonsha Ferguson, 24, who was seven months pregnant and had to be rushed to the hospital for an emergency C-section. The shooter claimed he saw the woman allegedly placing items into a store cart and into a large bag she carried over her shoulders. (WSMV)
