Toddler Eats Makeup, Runs In Street After Mom Passes Out In Truck: Nashville Police
A 26-year-old woman is charged with child neglect and drug possession after police said she passed out and her child was eating makeup.
NASHVILLE, TN — Metro Police found a toddler running in the street and eating make-up while her mother was passed out inside a truck parked on a Bordeaux street Tuesday afternoon.
Someone called police saying that a child was getting out of a truck and running in the street on Doak Avenue and the caller was concerned the 3-year-old would be hit by a car. When police arrived, they found 26-year-old Brittnie Woodruff passed out inside the truck, according to an arrest report. Officers said that the toddler was sitting in the car eating make-up when they arrived.

The officers said they had a difficult time waking Woodruff, who "had a clear baggy containing white residue on her lap" and white residue on her pants, according to the affidavit. When she awoke, Woodruff allegedly said "the white residue was crushed up Lortab and that she had been using the straw to snort the substance."
Police also found Xanax, which Woodruff said she takes for anxiety. No prescription for Lortab or Xanax was found, police said.

Woodruff is charged with child neglect and drug possession. The child was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center and police notified the Department of Children's Services.
