What's Going On At WSMV?
Nashville local news legend Demetria Kalodimos cleared out her desk in the middle of night, sources told The Tennessean.

NASHVILLE, TN -- The bizarre goings-on continue at Nashville NBC affiliate WSMV, as The Tennessean reports that sources say long-time anchor and local news icon Demetria Kalodimos cleaned out her desk in the wee hours of Tuesday morning.
A source told the newspaper that Kalodimos - who is on a scheduled vacation and whose contract is up at year's end - cleaned out her newsroom desk at 2 a.m. Tuesday, baffling co-workers and station management. Photos of her desk show she left just a peppermint and a coat hanger (it is unknown if the hanger was from The French Shoppe).
It is just the latest chapter in a string of bizarre goings-on at the station, which dominated the airwaves in the 80s and 90s with the Dream Team of the late Dan Miller and Bill Hall, along with Kalodimos and sportscaster Rudy Kalis, who retired last week.

A round of cuts in August hit, among others, the actor who portrayed Snowbird for decades. A group of former on-camera personalities filed a lawsuit alleging age discrimination against Meredith, WSMV's corporate owner. In that suit, it's alleged that station managers publicly berated the veteran Kalodimos.
Popular metereologist Paul Heggen left WSMV for a job in Raleigh-Durham in November.

Heggen, who spent eight years at Channel 4, was one of the most popular local TV personalities, known for appearances of his dog, Dagny, on Friday broadcasts of WSMV's morning show. The station's decision to move Heggen off the morning show and into a lower-profile weekend role — a move that also, necessarily, meant retirement from the small screen for Dagny — sparked a torrent of complaints on social media and a flood of letters to the station.
Heggen was the only meteorologist to appear in the top three of the Reader's Choice Best TV Personality in the Nashville Scene's recently announced Best of Nashville awards. He also finished third in Best Local Twitter Account.
Neither Kalodimos nor WSMV officials commented to The Tennessean on the latest development.
