Would-Be Peacemaker Shot In Ankle During Nashville Fight

A man attempting to calm an argument in North Nashville was shot in the ankle for his trouble Monday night.

NASHVILLE, TN -- A man urging cooler heads to prevail during an argument in North Nashville Monday night ended up shot in the ankle for his efforts, according to Metro Police.

Investigators say a group of people began arguing on 25th Avenue North at the Cumberland View Public Housing complex around 6:30 p.m. The victim intervened in a bid to calm the situation, but one of the people involved in the argument pulled a gun and ended up hitting him in the ankle, police said.

The shooter fled in gray BMW. The victim's injuries are not life-threatening.
