Holiday cookie decorating ends TCU semester on a sweet note

TCU Dining Services hosts a gingerbread cookie event to help celebrate the holiday season

As Texas Christian University (TCU) students geared up for final exams and to depart on winter break, TCU Dining Services hosted a gingerbread cookie event to help celebrate the holiday season.

On December 5, seventy-five students participated in the bustling two-hour event.

Students were able to decorate as many cookies as they wanted with a festive array of colors and toppings, then take them back to their dorms to enjoy.

“Since we leave in mid-December to go back home, this event helped me and my friends get into the holiday spirit while at school," said Maria Maldonado, a TCU junior majoring in Early Childhood Education.

“Some students stay on campus for the holidays so to engage in some holiday activities can be really special for them,” said Director of Marketing Katelyn McPherson.

The event was promoted through social media and on dining hall television screens.

The TCU Student Government Association and TCU Student Affairs also helped push information out to students in advance of the event.
