- Texas Stars pro-hockey player Riley Tufte works on both his diabetes and his time on the ice. Tufte was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at age 11, and learned to adjust to this condition over time. Tufte's perseverance navigating diabetes while living a normal life is his way of spreading awareness to children that they, too, can achieve their dreams. - Home prices in Leander and Cedar Park took a dip, while housing inventory rises and mortgage interest rates are at an all-time high. After the home-buying frenzy died down toward the end of 2022, some realtors are saying they're finally seeing a ramp-up in home buyers on the scene. - Lucky fans were able to meet guest of honor Manu Ginobili when he made an appearance at a recent Austin Spurs game at the H-E-B Center in Cedar Park. During his visit, fans "spoke with him about past games, got his autograph, reminisced about the Spurs title teams he was a part of." He now participates in efforts to build a good relationship with San Antonio Spurs fans across the South Texas corridor, which includes Austin and Laredo. (KENS5.com)
- On Sunday Feb. 12, a 12-hour standoff between a barricaded subject and Cedar Park Police ended peacefully.
