TOKYO — Nearly a week after withdrawing from the women's gymnastics team final after performing one vault at the Tokyo Olympics, Simone Biles is back.

USA Gymnastics announced Biles would compete in the balance beam final Tuesday alongside teammate Suni Lee in a tweet Monday morning. The event begins at 3:50 a.m. Tuesday.

"We are excited to confirm that you will see two U.S. athletes in the balance beam final tomorrow - Suni Lee and Simone Biles!!" the statement read.

The Spring native, who trains at World Champions Centre in Montgomery County, withdrew from the team final Tuesday after her first vault, citing worries over her mental health. Later, Biles specified she was suffering from "the twisties," an inability to control and safely complete spins during aerial maneuvers.

Since her withdrawal, she also pulled out of the all-around final and the first three event finals - uneven bars, vault and floor exercise. The balance beam final is the last event she is scheduled to compete in at the Tokyo Olympics.
