Comic Conroe, Heatwave Festival: This Weekend In MoCo

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX — Pop culture and cosplayers are taking over Conroe this weekend as Comic Conroe makes its way to the Lone Star Convention and Expo Center for sessions on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Single-day passes range from $15-25, and three-day passes will cost $35. There also are ticket packages available that include three-day passes in addition to various perks that range from $70-125. The event opens at noon Friday and will start back up at 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

The con will be packed with nerd fun, from trading card games and cosplay to panels and celebrity guests.

Kevin Sorbo, who played the lead role in the 1990s hit television series Hercules, the Legendary Journeys, is the featured guest, and WWE superstar Booker T also will be at the convention. Other guests include several artists and actors from beloved comic book series and TV shows.

Comic Conroe also will feature the Nerd-O-Rama Trivia Grand Championship, with one last chance to qualify for the final on Saturday.

Also in Conroe on Saturday, Southern Star Brewery is hosting Heatwave 2021, a hip-hop music festival and benefit for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. The fundraiser will feature 15 artists, plenty of water activities to keep cool and an excellent selection of food and craft beer.
