Congressman Kevin Brady will speak at the Conroe Chamber of Commerce's membership luncheon.

Conroe, TX -- Congressman Kevin Brady will deliver a legislative update at the Conroe Chamber of Commerce's membership luncheon on July 28.
Brady, who's district includes much of Montgomery County, is chair of the very powerful House Ways and Means committee, which controls all tax bills.

The event will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will be held at the The Village Golf Club at Panorama Village, 73 Greenbriar Dr., in Conroe.
Brady's held his seat in Congress since winning a rare for Texas jungle, a.k.a. non-partisan, primary and beating Gene Fontenot in a runoff in 1996. Despite, or perhaps because of, his long career on the Capitol, Brady has a target on his back.

He was able to stave off a primary challenge from former State Rep. Steve Toth, but only by spending $1.5 million in campaign cash. Brady's big spending only got him 53 percent of the vote, one of his lowest re-election totals ever. Just two years earlier Brady was able to pull in 68 percent of the primary vote.
