Conroe EDC Earns Excellence Award At Legislative Conference

CONROE, TX — The Conroe Economic Development Council was recognized recently by the Texas Economic Development Council for Conroe's professionalism and commitment to excellence.

The Conroe EDC was presented with the Excellence Recognition award for Economic Development in 2018 during the TEDC's Legislative Conference in Austin on Feb. 21. Executive Director Danielle Scheiner accepted the award for Conroe EDC.

The TEDC Economic Excellence Recognition program acknowledges economic development organizations for professionalism.

“The TEDC’s Economic Excellence Recognition program is one of the ways in which our organization honors the outstanding commitment to excellence of our communities and regions, their leaders, and their economic development professionals toward the professionalization of their economic development efforts,” noted Carlton Schwab, President/CEO of the TEDC.

Previously, TEDC awarded Conroe the Community Economic Development Award for attracting one of Texas’ top economic development projects, Industrial Components of Texas (ICOTEX).

According to TEDC, Conroe demonstrated creativity and leadership in business retention, business recruitment and community improvement.

“Conroe EDC’s professional staff has helped position Conroe as a robust and diversified economy,” said Conroe EDC board chairman Steve Pilgrim of Entergy Corporation.
