Conroe Police Warn Of Another Phone Scam

Scammers will often spoof legitimate numbers and use real officers names. If that happens, hang up and call the real police.

CONROE, TX — What’s worse than robocalls? Scam artists posing as police officers and threatening arrest, or demanding money for purported crimes. The Conroe Police Department has received a number of complaints again about this shakedown, and they want residents to know the calls are not coming from Conroe PD.

The callers are demanding personal information and using an app to conceal their phone numbers when reaching out to residents.

Scammers will often spoof legitimate numbers and use real officers names. If that happens police advise residents to hang up and calling police.
