Deputy Helping Stranded Motorist Makes Narcotics Arrest Instead

Alexander Ruiz, Sydney Perez, and Alan Gonzalez were arrested after a deputy constable allegedly meth in their car, police said.

TOMBALL, TX -- A deputy constable who was trying to to help a stranded motorist on a busy tollway, instead arrested three people on felony narcotics charges. A Harris County Pct. 4 deputy constable was on a routine patrol along State Highway 249 on Sunday when he saw a stranded vehicle in the main lanes of the 19200 block of Tomball Parkway.

The deputy said while he was helping the driver with his vehicle, a bag containing 3.25 grams of methamphetamine fell out of his pocket.

The driver, who was identified as Alexander Ruiz, was detained along with two passengers who were identified as Sydney Perez and Alan Gonzalez.

According to deputy constables, both Perez and Gonzalez had 4.38 grams of methamphetamine with them.

Deputies searched the car and found drug paraphernalia and other dangerous drugs inside the vehicle, officials said.

All three were arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail. Ruiz was charged with 3rd Degree Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance and received a $5,000.00 bond.

Sydney Perez and Alan Gonzalez were both charged with 2nd Degree Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance and received No Bond out of the 262nd District Court, Constable Mark Herman said.
