County Commissioners will hammer out election details at their regular meeting Tuesday.

Precinct realignments and more Incorporation Study matters are on the agenda for County Commissioners as well as The Woodlands this week.

CONROE, TX — Montgomery County Commissioners will likely hammer out the logistics of the Nov. 2 election at their regular meeting Tuesday in the Alan B Sadler Administration Building.

The Commissioners Court will discuss and likely approve a change in polling locations for Precincts 11, 45, 52, 63, 75 and 88 as well as a consolidation of precincts for poll locations. Also on the agenda for the court is to consider and approve changes in precinct boundaries, creation of new precincts and the designation of polling places.

Other items on the Commissioners Court agenda for Tuesday include an update from the Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management on the latest spike in COVID-19 in the county and a closed session item in which the court will consult with legal counsel on “issues surrounding The Woodlands Township potential incorporation, including the impact on the county and all county services.” The agenda states that could mean “modifying, amending, cancelling, or making any other changes” to agreements with the township regarding its incorporation.

On the consent agenda, the commissioners are poised to approve the 2021 Montgomery County Major Thoroughfare Plan after several months of receiving public comments and planning.

Tuesday
Immediately following the Commissioners Court meeting, the Montgomery County Toll Road Authority, made up of the four commissioners and County Judge Mark Keough will meet to discuss the fiscal year 2022 budget. For the full agenda, click here.

The Montgomery City Council will discuss and likely approve a proposed tax rate for 2021 after receiving the no new revenue and voter approval tax rates and discussing the rates needed to fund the 2021-22 Budget for Maintenance and Operations and Debt Service. If the rate exceeds the no new revenue rate, a public hearing will be held at 6 p.m. Sept. 7 at City Hall. Click here for the full agenda. Wednesday
The Woodlands Township Board of Directors will host a public hearing on the proposed tax rate for 2021 at 5 p.m. at The Woodlands Township. The hearing will precede its regular meeting at 6 p.m. The proposed tax rate, voted on last week, is $0.2231 per $100, which is above the No New Revenue Tax Rate of $0.2169 but less than the Voter Approval Tax Rate of $0.2314. In its regular meeting, the board likely will adopt the 2022 budget and will receive and possibly act on matters regarding the spread of COVID-19. The board also could take action on Incorporation Planning Study matters after it called an Incorporation Election for Nov. 2 at its Aug. 13 meeting. For the full agenda, click here.

Thursday
Following its Wednesday workshop, the Conroe City Council will hold a public hearing Thursday morning on the fiscal year 2022 budget. Also, the City Council likely will approve the City of Conroe 2040 Comprehensive Plan. The plan, last updated in 2007, is an in-depth vision for the future growth and infrastructure of the city, which has seen rapid growth in population over the last decade. Here is the full agenda.
