Only In Texas: Longhorn Rescued From Muddy Hole In Magnolia

Deputies and a few good neighbors helped with a bovine rescue near Magnolia on Monday.

MAGNOLIA, TX — Sheriff’s deputies conducted a bovine rescue on Monday when a Longhorn became stuck in a muddy hold and was unable to move. Deputies were called to the 30800 block of Dobbin Hufsmith Road to help remove the cow.

Deputies arrived with rescue equipment and found the Longhorn in mud up to its shoulders and unable to move.

Fortunately, one of the neighbors owned an excavator and came to help deputies remove Longhorn.

Through teamwork, and the use of the excavator the Longhorn was lifted safely out of the mud.
Deputies said the Longhorn was visibly exhausted and laid on its side until it was able to stand on its own.
