CONROE, TX - Thanksgiving is a time of togetherness and gratitude, but cooking at home can add stress to an otherwise stress-free celebration. - Pappas BBQ is open Thanksgiving day from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., serving whole, smoked turkey, green bean casserole, pulled pork, spiral-sliced ham and a number of other plates as well as the option to have a meal delivered to one's place of work, with four package options available. - Ryan's offers a holiday feast for $89.99. This includes boneless, sliced turkey breast, boneless, sliced, smoked pit ham, home-style macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes, country-style green beans, freshly baked dinner rolls, pumpkin pie and pecan pie.

- The Montgomery County Fairgrounds Exhibition Building is scheduled to play host to a massive Thanksgiving dinner on Nov. 24 from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., courtesy of Montgomery-based Red Onion Catering and the Friends of Conroe, a non-profit, community-oriented organization committed to enhancing the quality of life in Conroe and throughout Montgomery County. According to Stephen Naleway of Friends of Conroe, the concept of the event is to provide a holiday meal to residents who might not otherwise have one.

- The East Texas Dream Center aims to partner with the community in order to provide programs designed to house women and children in need, feed the hungry and assist the homeless, exhibiting their charitable mission on Thanksgiving day with a feast that begins at 10:30 a.m., open to the public. The center is also accepting donations of canned corn and green beans, desserts, dinner rolls and paper goods.
